Adam Trimble Grabs First URSS Feature Win
At El Paso County Speedway

The United Rebel Sprint Series made their second appearance at the tight quarter mile bullring at El Paso County Speedway Saturday night with nineteen teams making the trip. The Rebels treated the fans to a great show as the assembled field battled for positions and valuable points.

Woodland Park Colorado’s Cole Wood led the field to the green but the caution flew with a caution coming out for a three-car tangle on the start. The incident ended the night for Blake Bogenhagen, Levi Wisecup, Sam Wisecup and Tar Jo Christie. On the restart Woods bolted out to the lead with Patrick Bourke, Smokey Fairbank, Mike Parker and Nick Haygood rounding out the top five at the end of lap one.

Wood continued to hold the point as Adam Trimble made his way past Haygood to take over the fifth spot on lap two. Trimble turned up the heat on fourth place Parker as the pair battled for several laps until Parker’s mount came to a stop in turns one and two to bring out the second caution.

On the restart Wood once again jumped out to the lead with Bourke in his tire tracks. On lap eight Bourke’s night would end as his car would come to a halt on the backstretch to bring out the night’s third caution period.

On the restart wood once again took the point with Trimble, Fairbank, Herbert and Haygood rounding out the top five. Herbert had worked his way up into the top five from his tenth place starting position by lap nine.

Up front Trimble continued to pressure Wood for the point until lap fourteen when Wood brought out the caution as he came to a stop in turns three and four. On the restart, Herbert shot his way past Fairbank to take the runner-up spot. The green flag was short lived as Mike Parker came to a halt in turn one to bring out the final caution of the night.

On the restart Trimble pulled out to the lead with Herbert, Fairbank, Anderson and Haygood in pursuit. A resurgent Ty Williams had been quietly working his way through the field from his fourteenth starting spot making his way to the sixth place by lap sixteen. Williams turned up the heat on Haygood as the pair battled for several laps before taking the spot for good on lap twenty.

Up front Trimble held the top spot as Herbert tried to make his way to the lead. As the checkers fell it was Adam Trimble picked up his first career URSS Feature win with Herbert, Fairbank, Anderson and Williams rounding out the top five.

Ty Williams picked up the Keizer Aluminum Wheels “Hard Charger Award” coming from his fourteenth starting spot to finish in the fifth position.

El Paso County Speedway Promoter announced that the URSS Sprint Series would once again hit the track on Saturday August 7th with a Colorado Region show.
